footage taken during the 1970s. Colliery systems covered include Waterside,

firms visited include Tennent's, B.A.C. Burntisland, C.P.C. of Trafford Park,
the Port of Par and Falmouth dockyard.

the years 1967 to 1972. Featuring such colliery systems as Dollar, Manor Powis,
Philadelphia, Peckfield, Saville, Ladysmith, Weston Rhyn, Gresford, Merthyr Vale
and Mardy. Also Meaford power station, Yates Duxbury, three ironstone railways
and two sugar factories.

Another selection of industrial sites visited
during the 1960s and early 1970s and covering Scotland, Northern England, the
Midlands and Wales. Beginning in Scotland, Coal Board venues covered include
Wellesley, Comrie, Bedlay and Polkemmet. In north-east England, Ashington,
Lynemouth, Clara Vale and South Hetton collieries are visited as well as the
firm of Doxford's, with its famous crane tanks. Further collieries are featured
in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the Midlands as well as a plethora of other public
and private concerns such as Walsall and Windsor Street gasworks, Fort Dunlop
and Cadburys. The programme concludes in Wales with some rare shots in the slate
quarries of the north and further colliery visits in the south.

Covering the South Midlands and Southern
England, this programme begins in the Warwickshire coalfield where a 1500 Class
pannier tank is seen at Coventry colliery and the Garratt 'William Francis' is
seen at Baddesley. Several ironstone systems are then covered, including Corby,
Wellingborough, Irchester and Pilton. Four power stations in the Home Counties
are visited before moving on to the paper mills and chalk quarries of Kent and
the programme concludes with a look at Eastbourne gasworks, the R.A.E. at
Farnborough, Kilmersdon colliery and Falmouth dockyard.

This programme covers a wide variety of
locations in England and Wales using footage taken between about 1960 and the
early 1970s. Beginning in the North-East, several colliery systems are visited
including Backworth, Philadelphia and South Hetton. On the opposite side of the
Pennines, venues include the Shap Granite Company Ltd. and the Moss Bay Iron
& Steel Works where a brand new RSH 0-6-0 saddletank is seen in steam.
Several collieries are then visited in the Yorkshire coalfield including Park
Hill, Wheldale, Fryston, Peckfield, Skiers Spring and others.
Further visits include Redbourn steelworks, Eastwell quarries, the
Kettering Iron & Coal Co. Ltd. and Corby steelworks. In Wales, venues
include the Darwin & Mostyn Iron Co., Dinorwic slate quarries and a number
of colliery systems in the South Wales coalfield.

Beginning in Ayrshire, the famous Waterside system is covered by several visits made during the 1970s. Other Scottish mines featured include Barony, Bedlay, Kinneil, Frances, Polkemmet and Lady Victoria. In Wales, locations visited include Blaenavon, the Talywain system, Merthyr Vale, the Mountain Ash system, Brynlliw and the Graig Merthyr system. This is the third of our industrial slide shows, in this case featuring steam power at National Coal Board locations in England. The pictures in this all-colour album were taken mostly between the mid-1960s and mid-to-late 1970s by three industrial enthusiasts. Beginning in the north-east, the large systems based around Ashington and Philadelphia are visited, as well as some individual mines. In Yorkshire, a number of collieries are featured, displaying a considerable variety of steam types. The chapter covering the north-west ranges from the West Cumberland coalfield to the South Lancashire coalfield, including the last days of the famous Walkden system. The coalfields of the Midlands produce more variety with some rare views in the East Midlands where most collieries dispensed with steam at a relatively early date. Full informative commentary and playable on a normal DVD player.
