B. R. STEAM SCENES IN SOUTH WALES AND
THE SOUTH WEST.

Regions of British Railways mainly between 1962 and 1964. Beginning in Wales,
journeys are made from Carmarthen to Aberystwyth, Swansea Victoria to Craven
Arms, Three Cocks to Moat Lane and Aberdare to Pontypool, all behind steam
power. Everywhere, there is
abundant evidence that this was still a steam railway with stations and
infrastructure largely intact. Moving into England, expresses and local services
around Gloucester and Cheltenham are seen before the cuts of the 1960s. A
detailed look at the Somerset and Dorset main line is followed by scenes on the
delightful Hemyock branch and the programme concludes with views around
Lymington and Swanage.
