DIESEL TITLES
Although we concentrate mainly on
portraying steam power, we currently offer two British diesel programmes, which
despite their fairly recent production are already of an historical nature.
31s NORTH WEST
56 mins. £14.99.
Class 31s on passenger, freight and engineering
work in 1993. The first part of the programme covers the class working the
Liverpool - Blackpool, Liverpool - Manchester and Manchester - Barrow passenger
trains before all such work was turned over to diesel multiple units. There are
also views at Winwick on the West Coast Main Line and at Chester. No commentary,
all locations identified by subtitles.
37s NORTH WALES & NORTH WEST
53 mins. £14.99.
Class 37s on passenger and freight work along
the North Wales Coast in 1993 when most were in Regional Railways, Inter-City or
Railfreight livery. Also scenes in the Northwich area of the short-lived summer
passenger workings to Blackpool and of the famous I.C.I. hopper trains. No
commentary, all locations identified by subtitles.
OTHER TITLES
PRESERVATION SCENES FROM THE PAST
55 mins. £17.99.
Scenes depicting the earlier days of around
twenty British preserved railways and preservation sites with some views dating
back into the 1960s. Beginning on the Ffestiniog Railway with the stock still in
green and cream or brown, the programme then moves on to the Talyllyn and
Welshpool & Llanfair lines.
Moving into England, the Bluebell Railway is
seen during its small engine era, an ex-G.W.R. 0-4-2 tank works specials on the
Cholsey - Wallingford branch and such vanished locations as the Dowty site at
Ashchurch and Dinting are visited. Taken from colour cine film with full
informative commentary and dubbed sound.
